Holiday Recap

Hey there! This post is going to be a little different. Today, my mom and I are going to share a little bit about our holiday! Including some of the yummy cookies that we made together. It’s been a bit busy around here lately so that’s why it’s taken so long to get this up! But I’m so glad to be back and sharing with you!

For those of you who don’t know, my mom also has a blog which you can find here!

This year, my mom and I baked together for the holidays. We made Oreo truffles, sugar cookies, and peanut butter cookies with Hershey kisses in them. It was so nice for us to spend some quality time together!

OREO TRUFFLES:

To make the Oreo truffles:

  • 1 package of Oreo cookies
  • 1 8oz package of cream cheese, softened
  • White chocolate for melting
  • Vegetable oil
  • Sprinkles

In a food processor, crush Oreos into crumbs. Add cream cheese, blend into dough-like consistency. You may need to remove from the food processor and hand blend as the dough thickens. Form into 1 inch balls. Melt white chocolate in a small bowl in microwave until melted in 30 second intervals. Add a few drops of vegetable to the chocolate and mix until smooth. Dip balls into chocolate and then into sprinkles. Store in refrigerator. Enjoy!

PEANUT BUTTER COOKIES WITH HERSHEY KISSES:

We couldn’t find the exact recipe that we used for the peanut butter cookies with Hershey kisses but we found a similar one here! The recipe calls for peanut butter cups but we opted for Hershey kisses instead.

SUGAR COOKIES:

We had so much fun making these sugar cookies together! They were easy to make and just as yummy! You can find the cookie recipe we used here and the frosting recipe here! We chose to dye our frosting red and green for Christmas and add sprinkles!

It was so nice to be able to unwind and spend time with family. It’s nice when everyone is home together! We had a very low key Christmas and New Years surrounded by family and friends.

Let us know if you try any of these recipes out! We will definitely be making the truffles again soon. The sugar cookies are great for any holiday or event because you can make them into any shape or object you wish. The peanut butter cookies with Hershey kisses are always a hit, too! It’s nice to switch it up from your normal chocolate chip cookies.

Thanks for reading!
