January Product Spotlight

Hey guys!

This month, it was really hard for me to narrow down my favorites to a handful of products. I managed to get it down to just 5 items. Two are makeup products that I’ve used almost every day since I purchased them and the other three are hair products I can’t live without. Let’s get started!

First up: Tarte Tartelette 2 in Bloom Amazonian Clay Palette

I don’t even know where to start with this one. The colors are beautiful, it smells good when you open it, and Tarte is an amazing brand to support. Tarte is cruelty-free and formulated without parabens, mineral oil, phthalates, triclosan, sodium lauryl sulfate, and gluten. They even have a vegan friendly line, which you can find here. This particular palette is perfect for a natural day time look. However, it’s also versatile because you can transform your look from day to night by grabbing one of the darker colors. I’ve been using this palette pretty much every day since I purchased it. I love how many natural looks I can create from it. The darker shades in this palette have also allowed me to experiment a little more with a natural smokey eye. Overall, this is a great palette and I don’t have anything negative to say about it. Even the packaging is super cute!

Next: Bite Beauty Luminous Crème Lipstick Duo in Cortado/Latte

Before I start to say anything about this, I just want to put out there that this was a limited edition item for the Christmas Holiday. That being said, I have found similar colors in their other products that I have linked here (Rosewood is a very similar shade to Cortado, it’s what my mom purchased) and here (Caramel and Cream are similar to Latte). They do still sell the Lipstick Duo at Sephora, the only thing with that is that it comes in only one color set, Tangerine/Lingonberry (very pretty shades, just on the bolder side). But I do just want to say that this is my favorite lipstick in the world! Both shades are beautifully natural and I could wear them on any occasion. I wear one of the two almost every day. I’m very sad that it was a limited edition item. However, I will be purchasing the similar colors that I linked above once I run out. The formula is very smooth and the color stays on pretty well. I always wanted to try a Bite Beauty product (their limited edition colors on Sephora are all perfect). I saw this specific product near the checkout around Christmas and thought it was a great way to try out their brand. I’ll definitely be experimenting more with their brand in the future!

Third: Redken Pillow Proof Blow Dry Express Primer

I love this stuff! I received it as a sample with a purchase from Ulta. This product is so great because it significantly cuts down on my blow dry time and also acts as a heat protectant. Usually it takes me around 15-20 minutes to blow dry my hair (I have so much and it’s thick) and this cuts my drying time down to around 10 minutes. I also like that this product helps keep my hair soft and sleek. My sample is a decent size and I still have so much left, even after a month or so of use. So if the $24 price tag deters you, just know that if you use it correctly it can last a pretty long time.

Next: It’s A 10 Miracle Leave-In Lite

This product is amazing. I also received this as a sample with purchase from Ulta. It smells so good! After every time I wash my hair, I always spray this through it. It helps to keep my hair soft and helps to repair all the damage I cause from styling my hair. Even though my hair is damaged, it’s not that noticeable thanks to products like this. This product is also great for detangling. It can definitely be considered a multipurpose product. The price may discourage you from purchasing but just remember a little goes a long way.

Last: Rusk Hair Care Elixir Mist

This stuff is so great! I received it as one of my Birchbox samples. It doesn’t offer any hold but the purpose of this product is to make your hair shiny. After I spray the It’s A 10 Miracle Leave-In Lite, I mist this throughout my hair. I don’t spray much in my hair because I don’t want it to be weighed down or oily. I did make that mistake once and had to rewash my hair. Be careful not to spray too much in your hair- I just spray it twice and far away from my head. Overall, I really like this product and I’ll definitely purchase it.

Thanks for reading! Let me know in the comments below what products you’ve been loving!
